The Most Frequently Asked Questions about the Eufy HomeVac Duo Lightweight
In a previous article, we went in-depth into what we considered Best rated vacuum cleaners on the market from Eufy: The Eufy HomeVac Duo. We have talked about everything that you need to know about the HomeVac Duo from design, ergonomics, performance, to warranty and paperwork. However, reviews tend to be pretty general, so there probably some important questions that you are wondering about the Eufy cordless stick vacuum that you want answers for but don’t know where to look.
This is the reason why we have decided to write this FAQ article about the Eufy HomeVac Duo to resolve all of the most frequently asked questions about this vacuum cleaner.
How Long Does It Take To Fully Charge The Eufy HomeVac Duo 2-in-1 From 0%?
If you have read our previous article, one of the things that we praised Eufy for is the incredibly long battery life. Most cordless vacuum cleaners tend to last only about 15 minutes at best on full power. The Eufy HomeVac lightweight cordless upright-style vacuum can last for as long as 25 minutes at full power and 60 minutes in Eco Mode (reduced power). Unfortunately, the trade-off for such great battery life is an excruciatingly long charging time. According to the manual and all of our independent tests, the Eufy HomeVac Duo can take around 5 to 6.5 hours to fully charge from 0% to 100%! That’s half a day of continuous charging for it to reach maximum capacity.
So do keep in mind to plug the vacuum immediately into a socket for charging every time you finish vacuuming. You definitely do not have the time to wait for it to fully charge the next time around.
Where Do You Plug In The Charger?
When you buy the vacuum it will come with a stand. This stand will act as the charger for the vacuum and the cord will go from the power outlet into the stand. It can be a wall mount or can sit on the floor depending on your house design. The vacuum will dock into the stand for recharging. In other words, if you’re looking for a power socket on the vacuum you won’t find one, unfortunately.
Can I Leave It In The Charger Overnight?
Yes, you totally can. And considering the mind-boggling long charging time that this vacuum has, it is recommended that you leave the vacuum charging overnight. It is a common fear that doing this could spark an electrical fire during the night. However, we would like to assure you that in all of our tests, and taking into consideration the certified standards that this vacuum was built with, we are very confident that it is safe to do this for years to come.
What Is The HEPA Filtration Inside Of The Vacuum?
HEPA is an acronym that stands for ‘High-Efficiency Particulate Arrestance’. It is one of the best-known standards for air filtration systems in the world. Basically, in order to qualify for HEPA standard, the system must be able to filter 99.95% (In Europe) or 99.97% (In the U.S.) of dirt particles with a diameter larger or equal to 0.3 micrometers.
In vacuum cleaners without a HEPA filter, the dirty air surging into the vacuum will simply be recirculated into the surrounding environment. This is an extremely great health risk for people in the house since this dirty air can contain loads of allergens, airborne bacteria, viruses, pet hair, dirt, and debris. The HEPA filtration system inside of vacuum cleaners nowadays is to retain all of these particles inside of the system for disposal instead of having them escape back into the environment and cause health problems for the inhabitants. For households with allergy sufferers, this is going to be a god-sent feature.

Can I Clean My HEPA Filter?
With the Eufy cordless stick vacuum 2-in-1, the HEPA filter can totally be cleaned. Just remove it from the system and rinse it with cold water to purge all of the dirty particles that got trapped inside and you’ll be fine.
Does It Do Well On Carpets?
In our review article, we did mention that while the Eufy HomeVac lightweight cordless 2-in-1 vacuum has great ease of use and design, it is relatively underpowered. You can clean carpets with it; however, no heavy duty cleaning can be done. That is the job for a separate, more powerful full-sized vacuum. Don’t worry, though, it’s rare that you find yourself in a situation this one can’t handle.
How Well Does It Do On Laminated Floor?
For the most part, the Eufy HomeVac performs remarkably well on bare floors such as laminated, hardwood floors, and tile. It’s only with the tougher surfaces like carpets that it would run into troubles. You’re totally in the clear!
Can I Turn Off The Roller Brush?
There aren’t any switches to remove the roller brush but since you can remove it for cleaning, there’s no reason for us to think that you can’t just remove it and leave it out entirely.
Can You Change Speed Depending On The Type Of Floor?
Yes, you can change the suction power and brush speed on the Eufy HomeVac Duo. You have different speed settings for hard floors, wood, tile, and carpet.
Where Was The Vacuum Made?
The vacuum is manufactured in China. However, quality control is still done under U.S. standards so you do not have to worry at all about it misfiring because of manufacturer defects. If it did, remember that you always have the limited manufacturer’s warranty to protect your investment.
Does It Come With Accessories?
Yes, it does. The Eufy HomeVac Duo comes out of the box with two attachments, being a crevice tool and a brush attachment. Admittedly, it is relatively lackluster in comparison to competitors’ offerings. However, for the price and raw features (namely, the extra-long battery life and the 2-in-1 design), we personally think that the reduction of a couple of attachments is a justifiable omission to drive the price down.
How Good Is The Reparability Of The Eufy HomeVac Duo?
Eufy Best vacuum cleaner for home - really did the vacuum a lot of good in terms of maintenance and reparability. Major components such as the filter, the dust holder (collector), and if you’re a sufficient tech-whizz, even the vacuum itself can be unassembled for a closer look into the components if needed.
The machine itself is designed to be as low maintenance as possible with its bagless structure. Since all of the components that would be directly exposed to dirt, dust, and debris are all removable and washable, they tend to last a lot longer and require less manual maintenance over time.
This is why the Eufy HomeVac troubleshooting process tends to be relatively painless. We have never run into many troubles with it to actually have to disassemble it, though.
But that’s what we want, right?
